The Audio Manifesto
Bridging the gap between the studio and the street.
The commercial streaming industry has a badly kept secret: bandwidth costs money. To save on server costs, corporate platforms throttle audio for free users, run pristine masters through black-box algorithms to squash their dynamics, and charge a monthly premium if you want to hear the high-fidelity version.
We don’t do that here. TinyHouseRecords.com is built on independent infrastructure. We absorb the bandwidth costs to deliver audio exactly as it was engineered in the studio, completely free. Here is how our dual-stream engine works for both sides of the glass.
For the Listeners
The Unthrottled Experience
If you stream music for free on standard platforms, you are getting a downgraded experience. Most platforms throttle free users to heavily compressed 128 kbps (or worse) to save data.
- The 320 kbps Standard: By default, every track streams at a massive 320 kbps MP3. This is the highest-quality lossy bitrate possible, guaranteeing frictionless, buffer-free playback on your phone while maintaining the full depth of the track.
- The Audiophile Toggle: We don't believe in paywalling high-fidelity audio. Flipping the "Lossless" switch on our player completely bypasses our compression engine and streams the raw, uncompressed WAV or FLAC master file directly to your speakers.
For the Producers
Respecting the Master
When you bounce a final mix, every transient and decibel of headroom is intentional. Commercial platforms use aggressive LUFS algorithms to artificially turn down your track's loudness so a quiet acoustic song and a heavy bass track sound exactly the same.
- No Loudness Penalties: We refuse to touch your mix. We apply a strict -1db Peak normalization to our standard stream solely as a safety net to prevent digital clipping on mobile phone speakers. Your track hits exactly as hard as you mastered it to.
- The Live A/B Test: You can use the Audiophile toggle to seamlessly A/B test your raw, bit-perfect master against our optimized -1db stream in real-time. The player hot-swaps the audio source without losing your exact timestamp.
